Intrauterine insemination (IUI) is a minimally invasive fertility treatment in which prepared sperm is placed directly into the uterus. This improves the chance of conception. At Dr. Mehmet Koç's office, your treatment is planned around your own health and goals.
How IUI Works
- Consultation: Dr. Koç reviews your medical history, fertility health and goals, then creates your treatment plan.
- Ovarian stimulation: You take fertility medication to help your ovaries produce one or more eggs. We track your progress with blood tests and ultrasound scans.
- Sperm preparation: The semen sample is analyzed and washed. This concentrates the sperm, removes impurities and selects the healthiest, most active sperm.
- Insemination: The prepared sperm is placed in the uterus through a thin, flexible tube. This is a quick procedure done in our office.
- Pregnancy test: A blood test about two weeks later shows whether you are pregnant. We continue to support and monitor you during this time.
